welcome

Animated Encounters, described by Matt Groening as 'the place to be if you want to see the best new cartoons and meet the geniuses behind them' returns with four days of all things animated!

Essential for emerging and established talent alike, Animated Encounters will shine a spotlight on the wonderful world of animation…showcasing the very best new work from around the globe with eleven screenings and as the UK nominating festival, contributing towards the prestigious Cartoon D'Or Awards. Two new competitive awards are also up for grabs this year at our ceremony sponsored by Cod Steaks; the Cosgrove Hall Films Children’s Animation Award and the OLC / Rights Entertainment International Newcomer Award.

The Animated Encounters Industry Summit is shaping up to be a key ‘agenda setting’ forum for 2005 with an extensive programme of seminars, masterclasses and panel events split over two strands. We are delighted to announce that we will be welcoming representatives from Aardman, Cartoon Network, Cosgrove Hall, DreamWorks Animation, Hit Entertainment, HP Labs, MESH, nVidia, Studio AKA, Tiger Aspect and the UK Film Council as speakers.

As the festival draws closer our new website will continually develop with programme information, news and updates being added on a daily basis with tickets for Animated Encounters released for sale on the 21st March accompanied by an all-new online delegate accreditation system so watch this space!
